NT Together: Foodbank collection
Following the inception of our charitable committee – NT Together – earlier this year we decided to run a foodbank collection for a local charity – Telford Crisis Support.
Telford Crisis Support has operated a foodbank in Telford and Wrekin for 6 years now. They provide emergency food, toiletries and clothing to local families in need. On average, the charity receives around 3000 requests for emergency support each year and provides around 250 food parcels each month! Each of these food parcels contains enough provisions to make three mail meals, three lunches and three breakfasts.
We are proud to say that during our three-day collection for the charity we were able to donate over 120 items weighing in at just over 40KG. These donations included tinned meat/fish, tinned vegetables and snack pasta/noodles which the charity are always in need of.
If anyone local to the Telford are would like to donate to the foodbank they are always in need of the following items;
- Tinned meals
- Long-life milk
- Shower gel
Any items are gratefully received by the charity. You can find more information about them on their website.
