Severn Hospice – Store Wars
Last month we took part in Shropshire’s famous ‘Store Wars’.
Store Wars is a fund raising competition held by Severn Hospice to help raise money for families throughout the region living with incurable illnesses.
The weeks leading up to the event saw a big push in the Network Telecom offices to find donations from staff, family members and friends; that could be sold on the day. Each participating business was allocated one of the local Severn Hospice stores for the day and tasked to generate the most sales and raise as much money for the hospice as possible.
Last year we were triumphant. After being allocated the Brooklands hospice store in Wellington for a second year running, we knew that we were in with a good chance of beating the competition.
The competition, as always, was fierce, consisting of companies such as Swinton, Interserve, Midcounties Co-op and Dyke Yaxley, all looking to raise as much money as possible for this great charity.
By the end of play, we managed to win two out of the four main categories by Increasing Saturday sales at the store by an amazing 525%! We also sold the most tickets for the Christmas Grand Prize Draw, 302.
This resulted in us claiming the overall victory and being crowned ‘Store Wars’ champions for the second year running.
We would like to say a big thank you to everybody who supported Network Telecom and everybody associated with Severn Hospice, as we collectively managed to raise £6,608.
This amount of money is enough to pay for 24 hour care for 10 patients on the inpatient wards.
