What is VoIP?

Hosted ‘Voice over Internet Protocol’ (VoIP), in the form of hosted cloud or hosted ‘Private Branch Exchange’ (PBX) systems have all the features of a traditional business phone system, but with significant cost savings and increased flexibility. How does VoIP work?

VoIP takes your audio recording and turns it into digital signals before using your broadband connection to send those as data. At the other end, the data is transferred back into audio for the person on the other end of the ‘line’.
